Hospitals Offer Substantial Economic Improvements For Our Service and Technical Employees

Over the last 18+ months, St. Joseph Eureka Hospital (SJE) and Redwood Memorial Hospital (RMH) and the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) have been engaged in good-faith bargaining to create the first contract representing service and technical employees at our hospitals.
During our most recent bargaining session, the Hospitals provided the NUHW with a comprehensive compensation proposal. This proposal would:
- Provide an average hourly wage increase of 23%, with some employees receiving significantly more depending on their job classification.
- For employees at our current minimum wage rate, increase their wage rate to at least $14.35 after two years.
- Continue to provide a fully-paid health care option for our full-time employees.
We have already made great progress at the bargaining table, and it is our hope that we will soon reach an agreement with NUHW so that our employees may receive the significant and immediate wage increases our offer provides. We look forward to continuing the productive dialogue and making further progress on the few remaining articles at our next negotiating session on March 31st.
